Am Dienstagmorgen um 7:00 starten 451 Teilnehmer zum ersten Wettbewerb der diesjährigen Veranstaltung, zur  „Eerste Alternatieve Elfstedentoertocht“. Für sie ging es an diesem Tag über eine Distanz von wahlweise 50, 100 oder 200 km und sie hatten es nicht leicht, da ihnen am Nachmittag ein kräftiger Wind ins Gesicht blies.
