EXPERIENCING NATURE. The emerald eye of the Alps
14. August

EXPERIENCING NATURE. The emerald eye of the Alps FROM THE WATER TO THE SHORE in the Nature Park Weissensee The world in the water and along the shores in the Nature Park Weissensee is a place of inspiring beauty. Take off to an amazing exploration tour with our expert ranger where the emerald-coloured water of the lake meets the murmur of the reed. You start at Weissensee Information Techendorf Süd and after a short walk (about 1 km) you’ll reach the belvedere with stunning views to the surrounding mountains. When listening to the calls and songs of the birds the ranger will tell you more about the characteristics and living of the birds, their feathers, flights and much more. Right here you’ll also encounter the water. Explore the biodiversity of the lake under microscope. The typical haystack will soon get your attention, since it harbours the former wooden bridge that connected the two shores of the lake. The tour ends at the mysterious footbridge that features a stunning lake-view. As a souvenir you’ll get an emerald eye of the Alps made of clay. The barrier-free and gently mobile Nature Park bus will bring you back to the starting point.
