Mountain Biking in Carinthia, Austria

Bike holidays at Lake Weissensee

Starting at the beginning of May, mountain bike beginners, amateur athletes and summiteers on the south side of the Alps can enjoy the unique combination of biking and bathing, marvellous panoramic lake views, and the regional Alpe-Adria cuisine found at Lake Weissensee. The unique mountains and lakeside surroundings impress visitors with beautiful scenery and a wide variety of mountain bike tours. The "Bike & Boat" combination is excellent for families - a boat ride on Lake Weissensee provides a short-cut for certain bike trails.

11 mountain bike trails with a total length of 150 km and all degrees of difficulty run right from the shore of the cleanest lake in the Alps into the nearby mountains. Starting in summer 2018, two downhill trails for the entire family will run from the Naggler Alm chalet into the valley.

If you’d like to head to the Naggler Alm with a little less muscle power, the Weissensee chair lift with its own bike transport chair is just for you. During the 12-minute ride, this lift will treat you to beautiful views of the lake as it takes you and your bike to the Naggler Alm.

MTB Trail Weissensee

In the heart of the Gailtal Alps awaits a biking experience like no other:

Reach the start of the trail by taking route 5 by bike, or enjoy a leisurely ride with the Weissensee chair lift - with its bike lift (please see bike fares).
