CAR-FREE IN THE WEISSENSEE NATURE PARK
On your holiday, do you want to forget everything that stresses you out? Then simply leave the car behind and travel with a clear environmental conscience. On site you can explore the area for free with the nature park bus, reach the surrounding alpine pastures effortlessly with the mountain railway or the e-bike, glide along the lakeshore on a stand-up paddle board or cross the lake with the scheduled boat services.
The nature park bus
Soft mobility is on the agenda at Lake Weissensee: park your car at the reception car park (P1) in Praditz and start your day in the nature park from there. In the summer peak season and in winter, the nature park bus runs every 30 minutes. In the summer low season, the bus runs every hour. Further details:
- Daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm (lunch break from 12:15pm to 1:15pm).

- There is an hourly service from the lower terminus of the mountain railway to Naggl
- You can use the nature park buses free of charge with the Weissensee.PremiumCARD
- Guests without PremiumCARD can purchase the bus ticket at the following sales points: Municipal Office, Weissensee Information or directly on the bus.

Parking
All car parks are managed. The daily fee ranges from € 4.00 (reception car park in Praditz) to € 9.00 (car parks in the centre) and one hour of parking costs € 1.80. The parking fees are earmarked for traffic calming measures to protect the nature park and to increase the recreational value in the nature park. Detailed parking information can be found here.
Arrival by train & e-car sharing
Greifenburg train station is located on the railway line between Spittal and Lienz and is ten kilometres from Weissensee Nature Park. The journey to Greifenburg station is delightfully short and takes you through an impressive Alpine landscape. The station shuttle takes you comfortably from the station to your accommodation and back again.
Thanks to "Fred", the e-car sharing service, you can stay mobile at all times. Run everyday errands or go on a day trip: the electric cars are charged with 100 % green electricity and have a range of 190 kilometres. More information at fred-fahren.at.

Soft mobility is one of the pillars on which the Alpine Pearls principle is built. 20 municipalities in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Slovenia and Switzerland have committed themselves to offering more than just a nice stay. Healthy air, beautiful surroundings and a clear view of the mountains are sources of recreation for all holidaymakers. They should feel good, stay mobile and enjoy nature. And this works especially well when the beauties and sights of the Alpine Pearls are visited on foot, by bike, e-car or by horse-drawn carriage.
