MOUNTAIN BIKING AT LAKE WEISSENSEE

As a mountain biker, a particularly diverse arena for two wheels awaits you in the Weissensee Nature Park. From unique landscape impressions along the 160 km network of trails to action-packed downhill tracks and connections to the 650 kilometres of MTB routes at Bike World.

FROM THE LAKE INTO THE MOUNTAINS

Start directly from the unspoilt shores of Lake Weissensee to some of Carinthia's most amazing MTB routes. The lake is a popular starting and finishing point for bike tours that lead to the surrounding alpine pastures as well as into the mountain world in the midst of the Gailtal Valley Alps. Which route you take at Lake Weissensee is entirely up to you. Choose from

13 signposted MTB routes with a length of up to 69.4 km
3 bike trails from the Naggler Alm into the valley
leisurely family tours with only a few metres of difference in altitude
connecting tours to Nassfeld
a total of over 650 km in the Bike World.

Tour tip: The big Weissensee Tour from the lakeside into the gentle mountain world high above the lake to quaint alpine huts, including views of the lake and the Lienz Dolomites.

THE BIKE TRAILS

The three designated trails at Lake Weissensee promise action fans an undisturbed mountain bike experience in nature:

Weissensee Trail
Naggl Trail
Panorama West Trail
Pump track & practice parcourse

All three trails start at the Naggler Alm, to which you can either ascend by muscle power or in comfort with the summer mountain railway. Designated transport chairs take you and your bike to the starting point of the trails in just twelve minutes, accompanied by a magnificent view. All trails lead directly back to the valley. A new pump track including a practice parcourse at the lower terminus of the summer mountain railway invites you to practice and enhance your own bike skills.

TO THE TOP & FAST DOWNHILL

The possible combinations are a great highlight for mountain bikers at Lake Weissensee. The summer mountain railway multiplies the accessible starting points for your routes. The additional 650-kilometre Bike World network of routes motivates you to also set off for the Gitschtal, Gailtal and Lesachtal valleys as well as the Carnic Alps.

You can also combine excursions with a boat trip or a visit to one of nine alpine pastures.
