Fossils – Eye to Eye with the Primordial Sea
With the nature park ranger, you will walk in the footsteps of millions of years old rocks that tell the story of living beings from long-gone seas. You will start directly at the Fischeralm for an informative, exciting research tour into the creek bed. Sharp eyes and a bit of instinct will allow you to find fossilized tower snails, sea urchins, coral stocks, and beds of shells. Back at the Fischeralm, you will grind the collected fossils together under guidance. A very special keepsake for home!
The Weissensee Nature Park – the geological diversity in the Gailtal Alps. Protecting and preserving these natural treasures is an important part of the nature park.
