The historical monastery garden Maria Luggau has been redesigned according to conservation guidelines and its planting is based on the principles of Traditional European Medicine (TEM). The garden combines historical garden architecture with medicinal plant culture.
During the approximately one-hour guided tour, we will explore aspects of garden history as well as monastery medicine and Traditional European Medicine. We will draw a historical arc of medical history based on the plant world of the garden – from Hippocrates to Hildegard of Bingen to the present.
