Fossils - Face to Face with the Primeval Sea
With the nature park ranger, you will walk in the footsteps of millions of years old rocks that tell stories of creatures from long-lost seas. You will start together directly at the Fischeralm for an informative, exciting research tour into the creek bed. Sharp eyes and a bit of intuition will enable findings of fossilized tower snails, sea urchins, coral reefs, and shell beds. Back at the Fischeralm, you will polish the fossils you found under guidance. A very special keepsake for home!
The Weissensee Nature Park – the geological diversity in the Gailtal Alps. The protection and preservation of these natural treasures are an important component for the nature park.

Travel tip: comfortably by (E)-bike or a relaxed hike.

Equipment: sturdy hiking boots, weatherproof clothing, as well as snacks and drinks
