Botanical Culinary Hike for All Senses

Experience Description:

On our culinary hike, we explore one of the two flower mountains "Auf der Mussen" or "Mauthner Alm" around the mountain climbing village of Mauthen together.

During the main flowering season – from late June to early July – the meadows are bursting with beautiful orchids, colorful wildflowers, and various species of lilies, and our ascent is crowned by an incomparable view as well as a unique diversity of more than 500 plant species, of which over 280 are "higher" plants. To preserve this biodiversity, the meadows are "only" mown every other year.

As we walk through the undulating and fragrant sea of colors from flowers and herbs, botanically interested mountain hikers will definitely get their money's worth.

At the end of our ascent, we enjoy culinary regional products in an idyllic setting while exchanging information about the flower mountains and absorbing the scent of the meadows – a gourmet hike for all senses.
